The Calgary Roller Derby Association recently posted a video of their May 28, 2011 bout, “Malice in Derbyland,” which featured the Thrashin’ Lassies versus the B52 Bellas.

Formed in 2007, the Calgary Roller Derby Association is the only organization in the city for the sport. It has four regular teams, plus a “fresh meat” team for new recruits.

The Calgary Roller Derby Association has announced another round of tryouts on Feb. 25 at the YWCA Fitness on 5th (320 5th Avenue SE). Their website has information on the skills and equipment required to skate on a roller derby team.

The CRDA also refers new players to an educational video about roller derby.
